Cowtown was ‘Worth’ the trip

This last Saturday, we headed up to Ft. Worth, Texas (aka: Cowtown) for a quick one-day charity show to benefit prostate cancer research. “Cowtown Cruisin’ for a Cure” is the name, but don’t be fooled, it was lined with plenty of ‘horses’. It is not a small show by any means, as close to 550 cars entered. It is set in the vintage downtown area of Ft. Worth, Texas amid shade trees, old brick streets and authentic architecture. The streets are blocked off and in come the cars – quite alot of them.

After an all day/into the night photo shoot on Friday with three of our projects (special thanks to John Jackson/ www.NotStockPhotography.com and Miss V; more on that later), we drove all night up to Fort Worth, we arrived early in the morning at the downtown area. We took “Candy Apple Blonde”, the ‘57 Chevy Bel Air Convertible owned by Jeff and Ann Smith. Amid hundreds of beautiful show cars and trucks, the Blonde managed to bring home the “Coolest Convertible” award, as well as a “Best of Show”. Congratulations to the Smiths and thanks to all at the show for such an honor.

The added bonus is that we had already won Best of Show last year with the Keffeler’s ‘62 Vette, $umday. Call us butter, we’re on a roll! Maybe next year we can make it a “Three-peat”.

The Cowtown Cruisin’ for a Cure show is one not to be missed. It is a great charity and an even greater collection of beautiful automobilia that has to be seen to be appreciated. Next year’s will be the 10th anniversary, so it is sure to be special.

Mosey on down to Cowtown and sit a spell.

until next time,

Randy
